Mel-Defence is divison of Marlborough Engineering based in the Titanic quarter of Belfast, Northern Ireland. Marlborough Engineering specialises in Aerospace and Precision Engineering Solutions, and are committed to delivering exceptional levels of quality and service to our customers. Initially specialising in special purpose machinery, the company quickly moved into precision machining and subsequently into high quality fabrication. Today the company supplies precision machined components with the option of KanBan supply; high quality fabricated components and structures alongside special purpose machinery designed and developed for specific customer requirements. Marlborough’s customers include local ‘blue chip’ companies and a growing range of international engineering companies.

An enquiry was received in 2018 from a customer regarding the manufacture and supply of batons. After initial discussions our Engineers used their experience in material science, along with modern machining techniques to create a baton which exceeded the criteria necessary. After completion of this first order we have reached out to multiple police forces worldwide for feedback on our baton, which we have used to design our current range of batons.

To date we have sold over 40,000 batons worldwide and are continuously working to ensure that our batons maintain the standards necessary.
